I will be apearring at Comix Experience in San Francisco, on Saturday, the 28th of January, 2012! Comix Experience is currently the oldest comics shop in San Francisco, which makes me feel weird, since I first dropped in the week it opened, over 20 years ago. But it’s also the first store in the city that fully embraced the “new” comics, when Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, and a handful of other innovators showed a new generation what comics could do. Many great artists have appeared at this store over the years, and it’s going to be a big honor for me to sit where they sat and promote my latest offering, Polly and the Pirates Volume 2! If you’re a bay area local, come by and get your copy. also, a free sketch of Polly goes to the first person who gives me the secret key phrase, “Crimson Poppy.”
Big news. My friend Adrianne and I just finished our first journey into Henson’s Labyrinth. The story will be out in time for New Comic Book Day.

Sadly, I don’t have time to draw this book, as I’m completely overwhelmed with Courtney Crumrin and other secret projects. Happily, this won’t be a problem because THIS GUY is doing it. Holy cow! But just to be a tease, here’s a Hoggle sketch I did for craps and giggles.
Want an original Ted Naifeh comic page? A selection of original pages from my various projects is now available on bigcartel.com for ridiculously low prices. Check out out here:

Originals will be rotated regularly. If you have any questions or are interested in buying, email my contact, Lan, at tednaifehart@gmail.com.
In other news, You may remember I did a short Riddler story for the Arkham City online comic. It’s now in graphic novel form!
(I currently link to Amazon, but if anyone wants to post a link to an alternative purchasing site, go right ahead. I’m all about small businesses)
Just a reminder that my 10 page story in the Batman 80 page Giant is hitting stores today. If you like me and you like Batman, go git it! It looks great. Thanks again to Eric Hobbs for writing a great story that I could really sink my teeth into, and John Kalisz for his rich palette. Oh, and editor Rachel Gluckstern for putting me on this project (not to mention taking care of me in SD when I got a little too tipsy.) If I have my way, I’m gonna name a character after you.

I’ve been pretty busy this last month. The DC jobs I was trying to get over the last year finally came through. I will be in the next Batman Annual, as well as in a new project DC West Coast is putting out, which I’ll post details about as it comes. In addition, I just knocked out the cover for the new Polly and the Pirates book.
Also, I will be at Comic-Con International in San Diego next weekend. I will be at the Oni Press booth all weekend.
Here’s a few sketches to tide you over.

I was recently interviewed by the lovely Wolfen Moondaughter of Sequential Tart.
Thanks, Wolfen!
Also, I want to thank my good friends Nick and Angela of thinkweasel.com for doing some complex behind the scenes work on my site that I couldn’t possibly have done myself. The results will become more apparent when do an overhaul of the look.
Stay tuned. And thanks, Nick and Angela!

Here’s a couple of pieces commissioned by fans. If you’re interested in a commission, write to my friend Lan at tednaifehart@gmail.com. They range in price from $25 for small headshots, to $100 for the large full figure pieces like these.
The Superman one isn’t a commision. I just wanted to see if I could draw Superman. It is for sale, though, since you asked.

After many interruptions, the book is finished. Here’s a peek at the exciting continuation of the adventures of young Aloysius Crumrin in his unlikely alliance with the Anti-Sorcery Society. Enjoy…
