Pure Poison

By Ted Naifeh  //  Blog Post, Sketchbook  //  6 Comments

My Poison Ivy. Not a drastic reinvention but not exactly canon. I’m curious to see what kind of reaction I get from this one.

And by the way, each piece will be for sale, starting with this 11″x14″ beauty. $120 plus shipping takes it.

Batman Gallery Officially Up

By Ted Naifeh  //  News, Sketchbook  //  11 Comments

I’ve installed a Batman Gallery to keep up with my latest project. There’s a set of sketches I collected from last year’s sketchbook. Also, there are a couple more Joker pics in there. Sorry to keep harping on about this, but sometimes I get obsessed with a project and need to get it out of my system. The feedback has been great.

Still on the Batman Kick

They say Beethoven, unlike Mozart, got his work exactly right after getting it wrong in every conceivable way. For every little immortal phrase, there are hundreds of rejected experiments. I find that I work like that most of the time, at least when it comes to Character design.

Here’s a set of Batman villains I’ve been working on. These are all works in progress, and may never see the finished page. Feedback is most welcome.

And Now For Something Completely Different…

While I’m waiting for editorial at Scholastic to approve my thumbs for Good Neightbors 3, I’ve cooked up a plan to get a gig from DC comics drawing a Batman fill-in or two. What can I say? Daddy needs a new pair of shoes. Here’s the first taste of my sample work.

More is coming very soon.

Happy New Year

List of resolutions, in no particular order:

Finish Good Neighbors

Start Princess Ugg

Get a Batman or Batman Family fill-in set up. Dream writers: Rucka, Winick, Dini.

Get a new banner for conventions.

Learn fancier ways to lay out pages.

Look good naked.

Here’s a set of fan art and sketches. I have a bunch more, but I need to get them out of storage. I’ve been meaning to put together an album so I can enjoy them more regularly. A web album will have to do for now.
